Impact Stories — Narrative Archive

Where the work shows up — story by story, voice by voice.

Beds rebuilt. Retreats held. Studios untangled. Communities steadied. This is the living archive of what Malyk's stewardship has actually produced — narrated as stories, evidenced by the people who lived alongside the work.

Four streams of stewardship.

Impact Stories

Three stories. Three different rooms.

A garden that began to feed again. A retreat that became more nourishing. A community project that finally found its rhythm. Each is told in the voice of the work itself, with one supporting reflection from the people who lived it.

A neglected garden becomes productive again

What began as an overgrown patch — invasives crowding the beds, soil tired from years of neglect — became, season by season, a working homestead garden. The redesign followed the land's own cues: beds expanded where light pooled, plants chosen for what the soil could already offer. By the end, the property held seven productive beds where five had struggled to feed anyone.

He left the property he tended in better condition than he found it.

A retreat becomes more nourishing

Healing arts retreats ask a lot of the people who hold the space: every meal, every transition, every quiet hour shapes what guests can do inside themselves. Working alongside the retreat team, the kitchen became one of the steadier rooms in the house — food prepared with the rhythm of the work in mind, not against it.

Culinary offerings infused with intention, knowledge, and deep respect for the healing process.

A community project gains momentum

When a studio and a retreat center share a small team, the to-do list becomes a tangle. The work here was less about doing more and more about naming the connections between what was already moving — what could wait, what was actually one decision, what only needed to be written down. Out of that came clarity, and out of clarity came momentum.

He helped us name what to do next when the work felt like too much to hold.
